With sign up for fall semester classes now behind us, many students are annoyed at how fast certain sections filled up. Among them is first-year computer science student Steven, who neglected to take any language classes this year in anticipation of his intro to programming classes satisfying the requirement.

"It's ridiculous," he said in an interview, "programming languages are universal, my computer is never going to speak Spanish so why should I?" We caught up with Steven's advisor to ask him how this was allowed to happen. He explained, "I'm an art history professor, so I really have no idea how any of the Gen Ed requirements work anyways."

Steven now hopes to satisfy the requirement with "English as a Second Language", as according to him his primary language is C#.
