With McIntire decisions released yesterday, many UVA Pre-Comm students have had to pivot their major plans after not being accepted into the School of Commerce. Consequently, Astronomy Major declarations also skyrocketed yesterday with over 300 undergraduates declaring the major.
“Honestly this couldn’t have gone better for our department,” explained Professor Murphy, an Astronomy Professor who has been planning this move for over a year. “All of these kids are really smart, and they’ll be able to contribute way more to Astronomy than they ever would have been able to in business.” Murphy also insisted that “Stars > Stocks”, but wouldn’t elaborate further.
Our reporters also discovered that the Astronomy Department intends to become the Official Backup Plan of the School of Commerce, further cementing their ability to retain McIntire rejections.
