April Fools! UVA Sends Out Fake Acceptance Letters to Rejected High Schoolers

Tens of thousands of rejected students fell victim to an April Fools prank today as the university sent out fake acceptance letters to all applicants, regardless of their actual status.
All students received the trademark acceptance letter, but were then reminded of today’s date and given a link to the applicant portal, where a vast majority discovered that they had been denied acceptance to Mr. Jefferson’s prestigious university.
Evan, a high school senior from McLean, VA, said he was disappointed by the prank because he legitimately thought he had been accepted. He was over it, though, as he claimed that “UVA was actually his safety, not even a reach school” and he would be getting into some Ivies “any day now.”
