New UVA Common App Prompt: How Much Money Does Your Daddy Donate to UVA?

In response to a recent Supreme Court decision, UVA has removed any and all ‘checkbox’ style questions from their common application regarding familial ties to the University. Instead, they have opted for a more direct fill-in-the-box question: How Much Money Does Your Daddy Donate to UVA?
Jonathan, a future Class of 2028 applicant from Keswick whose parents went to UVA, expressed his opinions on the new prompt to BNH reporters: “Honestly, I see this as an absolute win”, he explained as he munched on a bowl of Whole Foods brand Cheerios and organic blueberries, “Everyone should have a fair chance of admission at UVA, and I’m glad that kids from under-represented neighborhoods like Keswick will finally get proper recognition at Thomas Jefferson’s university.”
Critics of the new prompt have called it “unfair” and “blatantly classist”, to which the University has responded that this “doesn’t change their application process at all”, and will, “only serve to streamline decisions.”
