Alderman Library Reopens: Ranked #1 Most Scenic Place To Cry Over Midterms

After decades of construction, Alderman Library’s reopening ahead of the spring 2024 semester made waves on the university’s ranking for best study spots to break down and suffer an existential crisis during midterm season.
Ever since Alderman closed for renovations, the Clem 2 booths had secured the #1 spot every single year followed closely by the Clark study rooms and those little study rooms by the New Cabell stairwell which always seem to have someone in them whenever I want to sit there. While the shakeup in the rankings certainly altered the status quo, one professor wasn’t surprised.
“Yeah, I’m not surprised. Back when I was a student, I remember crying myself to sleep every finals season in the Harry Potter room at Alderman,” the professor — who asked to remain anonymous out of fear of retaliation for how hard his econ midterms were last semester — said. “I can’t wait to make my students feel that pain for themselves again.”
