Charlottesville Submits Bid to Host 2036 Summer Olympics

Today Jim Ryan announced in conjunction with @uvaupc that Charlottesville has submitted a bid to host the 2036 Olympics, with UVA to host the majority of the events.
We caught up with a UPC member to see how they plan to finance the endeavor. She explained, “Well, we figure if we cut the budget a little bit every year we’ll be there by 2036. We started by booking Sean Kingston so expect more events like that for the next 15 years.”
Some are questioning Ryan’s role in the decision, as if the bid succeeds he will have a much shorter commute to his annual marathon, which he usually completes in Boston. When asked about his intentions Ryan argued, “I get where people are coming from, but on God this is what Thomas Jefferson would have wanted.”
