UVA Teacher's Assistants Form Union

The Teacher’s Assistants of UVA have unionized, despite attempts by the University to dispel such efforts. The union has formed at a time of increasing unrest among the TAs, who hope to get higher wages and improved access to whiteboards.
“This is a huge turning point for the TAs at UVA,” said our source, talking under the condition of anonymity, “It gives us little guys a seat at the big boy table Thomas Jefferson built.”
While students should expect no immediate changes in their academic lives, this is troubling for Professors, who are scrambling to make back-up plans in the event of a strike.
