Corrupt NFL? For 58th Straight Season, UVA Excluded From Super Bowl

58 years have come and gone since the NFL’s establishment of the Super Bowl as its title game, and for the 58th straight time the league’s refusal to allow Virginia football to compete in its so-called “world championship” remains a black mark on the league’s history.
Professional football has long been marred by controversy, from the ethical questions around the sport raised by chronic brain damage and CTE found in former players to the league’s blackballing of Colin Kaepernick after he spoke out against racial injustice. But perhaps no scandal rises to this level: the ‘Hoos weren’t even allowed a chance to compete in the postseason.
We spoke with sources within the UVA football program, who confirmed that UVA would “100% whoop the Chiefs and 49ers,” adding that Patrick Mahomes “doesn’t have shit on Anthony Colandrea” and Tony Elliott would “scheme circles around Reid and Shanahan.” Unfortunately, we will never know how this hypothetical matchup would’ve played out, but the only fair solution is to award UVA the Super Bowl trophy.
